“Just a background performer in my own diaries”
This project is the second part of my personal project “Presence” which contains a series of self-portraits that record the relation between my own presence and the surrounding environment.
It's a series of my random photographic diaries in the streets of Cairo downtown, combined with self-portraits taken at the same perspective of each photo (with the help of my lovely wife). You can hardly find me in the dimmed shadows or reflections, walking randomly in the corner of a street or watching from a far window in a background building.

The photos reflect the real presence I feel about myself within the streets. I am no more than a background actor in a movie scene, with no real effect on the main action except for completing the reality of the whole picture.

The source photos are from my photo diaries, you can check samples of them in my "Cell Phone Diaries" blog.
